Map the Museum

Map the Museum

Map the Museum is an open data project, conceived by Caper, to help the Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton & Hove, understand more about their collections.

The first phase asks members of the public to place pieces of fine art, photography, archaeology and other ephemera on a map of the local area and explain its connection. This project is a trial to develop Brighton Museums’ digital strategy and explore the opportunities inherent in both their objects and other local data feeds. Subsequent phases will include the introduction of civic data (schools, health, crime, etc.) and extend the reach of the project to other UK regions.
